Recently, Kelso-Burnett Co. completed all of the electrical installations to the new four-story, 206,000 square foot Eric Solorio Academy High School in Chicago, Illinois. The school implements a new prototype Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Urban Model High School design which achieved a LEED Silver Certification including a 50% green roof.
Kelso-Burnett Co. had fifty electricians working during the peak of construction and worked over 52,000 man-hours. The team was responsible for installing all interior and exterior lighting with a special daylight harvesting control system, electrical distribution for three separate services, a 400kw generator, Mechanical Power, an IDP Digital CCTV System with 150 cameras, a Clock System, an Intrusion Detection System, an Audio/Visual System, Theatrical Lighting and Control, a new Fire Alarm System, and an Area of Rescue Assistance System throughout the new campus.
